the bit about me
Ill keep this as straight to the point and as non self gratifying as possible, as this is really not the essence of this site or of my intentions bringing you here…
i am just a normal bloke, halfway to fifty, and blessed to be born and raised in the beautiful county of west yorkshire. i did a bit of time in the navy, with one or two pints consumed and three or four great people met. in my spare time i enjoy seeing the beauty of england, playing a game or two on the old pC, and of course, writing.
if you could place me now on a desert island with nothing but a dog, a laptop with no internet connection, and a lifetime supply of pot noodles, i reckon i would be happy, for the four or so days until i copped for it because i couldn’t boil the water.
my biggest proponent, one i wish to share with all people, is the universal law of peace, happiness and love. i believe if we all manage to live within that doctrine, the world will be a better place. that is my only ideology, so fear not about me pushing any agenda down your throats within my art.
scitherial and all its contents have been my baby for the past eight years now, and it brings me such joy to be able to share it with you all. please know that when you step into this world, it is not one that i shall abandon. i have crafted this place with love and commitment, and i am confident it is a place each of you are going to want to stay.
my only mission, (bar that of creating an excellent trilogy), is to prove to both the writing world, and everyone that enjoys creating in any shape or form, that we do not need the backing of industry to be successful in the creative realm. our stories should not be butchered to conform to any other persons ideas, that makes them not our stories, and what i want, is for you to have my story and my story alone. no external influence, no hidden agendas, just art from one man, not trying to tick boxes for someone to tell me it is good enough to share, but sharing it exactly the way i want it to be.
in the world we live in today, where all our time is given away, i believe we need something for ourselves. this page, this work, is something from me to you. i suppose, that is why i am writing about the book again now. this is all that matters. unfiltered, unconforming to agenda or ideology, this is MY writing, and it is for you all. hopefully, in the years to come, i can look back at this and think,
‘yeah, i proved that we can still have art.’
art that comes from within, not from outside of ourselves, although a little channelling never hurts.
